21th October 2009: ADAS-EU Job Advert Released

8th-16th October 2009: ADAS-EU Course

An ADAS-EU Course will be held from 8-16 October at the Max-Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, Garching near Munich, immediately following the 2009 ADAS Workshop. It is designed for those wishing to acquire in-depth knowledge of ADAS, atomic calculations and their application to fusion plasma. Please mention it to colleagues who may be interested. Numbers will be limited to about eight. More details can be found here

4th-7th October 2009: ADAS Workshop

The 2009 ADAS Workshop will be held from 4 Oct - 7 Oct 2009 at Schloss Ringberg, overlooking Tegernsee at the foothills of the Bavarian Alps south of Munich. See the ADAS webpage here for more details.

25th-27th August 2009: Visit to Cadarache

Allan Whiteford will visit CEA-Cadarache, primarily for ADAS-EU work related to charge exchange but also to discuss workplans for the coming year.

14th-17th July 2009: Visit to FZ-Jülich

Hugh Summers will visit FZ-Jülich as part of Francisco's induction and to set up initial ADAS-EU Workplans.

1st July 2009: Francisco Guzmán

We are pleased to announced that Francisco Guzmán has taken up post as an ADAS-EU Research Fellow, initially based at FZ-Jülich. More details about Francisco are here.

9-10 June 2009: Visit to UAM

Hugh Summers visted the Department of Chemistry, University Autonoma, Madrid, Spain.

3-4 June 2009: Visit to Giessen

Hugh Summers visited the Institut für Atom- und Molekülphysik, Justus-Liebig Universität, Giessen, Germany

25 March 2009: ABS Meeting

Allan Whiteford and Hugh Summers attended the ABS Meeting in Leiden. ADAS-EU was discussed in Allan's talk.

20 March 2009: Visit to KVI

Hugh Summers will make an ADAS-EU visit to the Kernfysisch Versneller Instituut, University of Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands on 20 March 2009

13th March 2009: Applications closed

Applications for the ADAS-EU posts have now closed, the candidates will be informed of the decision in due course.

26 February 2009: Visit to Mons

Hugh Summers made an ADAS-EU visit to the Department of Astrophysics and Spectroscopy, University of Mons-Hainaut, Mons, Belgium on 26 February 2009.

12th February 2009: ADAS-EU Posters mailed

Posters given information on ADAS-EU have been sent to various laboratories and university groups. A downloadable version is available here.

12th February 2009: ADAS-EU Website Launchd

The official ADAS-EU website is launched.

12th February 2009: ADAS-EU Job Adverts Released

9th December 2009: ADAS-EU Signed

We are pleased to announce that the ADAS-EU ("ADAS for Fusion in Europe") contract was signed on 5 December and the project will commence on 1 January 2009.
